Caverion is responsible for renewing the building automation system at the Red Cross blood centre in Linz, Austria. Caverion was chosen to the project due to the technical expertise and the perfectly coordinated, flexible BMS, Building Management System, which was specially tailored to the requirements of the blood centre. The project took place from May 2023 to December 2024.
About the order
The blood center in Linz ensures the supply of blood products in Upper Austria 365 days a year, around the clock. Around 55,000 units of blood are needed every year. All tests and further processing of the blood products are carried out in the blood centre laboratories.
Special features of the project:
Very short conversion and commissioning time: the clean room facilities had to be converted and put into operation in just a few days. In addition, the conversion was carried out during ongoing operations - parallel to the existing system, which will continue to be operated until the end.
GMP-compliant project process with support for qualifications. Energy-saving measures and optimisation of the systems, including the installation of Energyvalves and energy meters, also to make further optimization potential visible.
This project is an impressive demonstration of how Caverion's technical expertise and flexible solutions meet the high requirements of the blood centre.
