Metsä Fibre chooses Caverion as maintenance partner at sawmill in Finland

Botnia Mill Service, part of Caverion, will start as maintenance partner at the Metsä Fibre’s new sawmill at Rauma, Finland. The agreement covers all sawmill process phases. Metsä Fibre is part of the Finnish forest industry group Metsä Group.

New technology and analysing the utilisation data with AI help us target maintenance more efficiently. For the Rauma sawmill it is also important that our partner is committed to common safety goals,” says Liisa-Maija Perävainio, Mill Manager at Metsä Fibre Rauma Sawmill.

Botnia Mill Service is a long-term partner of Metsä Fibre for all their pulp mills in Finland. At the Rauma site, Botnia Mill Service also takes care of the maintenance of the Rauma pulp mill.

”The maintenance partnership with Rauma sawmill will further strengthen our cooperation with Metsä Fibre. This new agreement will bring significant synergies: we can manage the entire maintenance at the Rauma site since we are already working at the pulp mill as well. This partnership will also open up new opportunities for maintenance professionals and we will start new recruitments right away,” says Elina Engman, Head of Caverion Industry Division.

Caverion is also carrying out installations of electrical and ICT systems for Metsä Group’s new sawmill in Finland. Read more about the project
