Raaseporin Energia trusts Caverion’s expertise in substation project in Finland

The Finnish energy company Raaseporin Energia's goal is to be part of building a vibrant Raasepori, a community where people love to live and work. Raaseporin Energia relies on local production and uses 100% renewable energy.

Caverion will deliver a turnkey project for Raaseporin Energia, including the renovation of the 110 kV switchyard in Björknäs and the construction of a new 110/20 kV substation in Prästkulla in South-West Finland. Caverion will be responsible for engineering, construction, installation and commissioning of the entire delivery. The investments are part of Raasepori Energia's larger electricity distribution network overhaul, which started in 2014 with the aim of modernising the region's distribution network from 10 to 20 kilovolts by the end of 2023. The agreement now made with Caverion represents the last and largest single investment in the project, and it will ensure the reliability of Raaseporin Energia's electricity distribution network well into the future.

"Caverion has previously carried out two substation projects for us during 2018–2021. We are convinced of Caverion's reliability as a supplier, the quality of their deliveries, and their skilled personnel, so it is easy for us to continue with them in these new projects," says Andreas Talling, Electricity Network Manager at Raaseporin Energia.

The planning work has already started, and the project will be completed by the end of May 2023. The agreement is worth EUR 1.4 million.

Raaseporin Energia is an energy company wholly owned by the city of Raasepori. The Raasepori electricity network covers Tammisaari and its outlying areas.
